Today’s job involved removing a steel beam that had clearly been installed using the highly regarded “that’ll do” engineering method.

The only problem? It bore very little resemblance to what the structural engineer had actually specified.

We’ve removed it, installed the correct steel exactly as designed, and the job is now back to how it should have been in the first place.

This is why cutting corners on structural work is never worth it. A steel beam isn’t somewhere to get creative or save a few quid. If an engineer has gone to the trouble of calculating and specifying it, there’s usually a good reason.

Another one put right. Hopefully the previous installer sticks to flat-pack furniture in future. 😏

Next Job is to prep for the plasterers and then we’re on with the kitchen install 🔥

Another one well underway… 🔨

Two days in and what a transformation already.

The old kitchen wall has now been removed, opening the whole ground floor into one large open-plan living space ready for a brand new kitchen.

Next up:
✔️ Electrician – first fix
✔️ Plasterer – making everything good
✔️ Then it’s over to us to install the customer’s new kitchen.

It’s always satisfying seeing the space completely opened up before putting it all back together. The finished result is going to look like a completely different house.

🏡 Unused space transformed into over 2 metres of bespoke storage…

This under-stairs area was previously an awkward, wasted space. It’s now home to:

✅ Full height storage cupboards
✅ Custom angled drawers designed to maximise every inch of available space
✅ Made-to-measure fitment with scribed panels for a seamless built-in finish
✅ Designed, CNC manufactured and installed by us here in West Yorkshire

The clever part of this project is the angled drawer design, allowing us to make use of space that would normally be lost in a conventional under-stairs installation.

To keep the project within the customer’s budget, the internal carcasses were manufactured from high quality moisture resistant MDF and professionally finished, allowing the investment to be focused on the areas that matter most — functionality, storage capacity and the finished appearance.

Every under-stairs space is different, which means every installation is designed and manufactured specifically for your home.

If you’ve got an under-stairs cupboard full of coats, shoes, hoovers and things you can never find when you need them, it might be time to put that space to work.

We originally fitted this bathroom 8 years ago — and recently returned when the customer, now 83 years young, was struggling to safely get in and out of the bath.

Rather than pushing for an expensive full replacement, we offered a simple, practical solution:
