🏠📢 Landlords in England: new registration rules

The Renters’ Rights Act means all private landlords must register themselves and their rental properties on the new Register your rental property service.

▪ Opens in stages by region - Shropshire will open from 15 December 2026
▪ Fee £65 per property per year
▪ Safety certificates and EPC details needed within 28 days
▪ Penalties of up to £7,000 for not registering

📣🏠 Calling all landlords...

The government is bringing in a new rule for landlords in England. From December, you'll need to register your rental property on a national database — it's starting in the West Midlands and rolling out to the rest of the country over the next year, with every landlord needing to be signed up by November 2027. Fines will apply for those who miss the deadline for your area.

It's part of the wider Renters' Rights Act changes, and letting agents will need to show registration numbers on property adverts too.

We'll keep our landlord clients posted on timings as it reaches Shropshire. If you have any landlord/tenant queries do give us a call.
