The honest truth? I’ve ended up totally burned out.

And the strangest part is… I didn’t see it coming, because I’ve been having the best time.

Over the last few weeks I’d got to the point where I was falling asleep in the afternoons, getting out of breath on short walks and feeling completely shattered after a normal working day. People around me were worried enough that I ended up being admitted to urgent care and sent for a load of tests.

Thankfully, apart from a couple of deficiencies and vitamins that need sorting, nothing major showed up.

The long and short of it? I was completely exhausted.

And when I actually stopped and thought about it, I realised something slightly ridiculous…

I haven’t had a proper day off since January.

This year has been MEGA. Business has been busier than ever. Opportunities have kept coming. I’ve travelled somewhere every single month. I’ve met incredible people, worked on brilliant projects, had so many firsts and genuinely enjoyed almost every minute of it.

And I think that’s exactly why I didn’t recognise burnout.

Because I thought burnout had to come from being miserable, stressed or hating what you’re doing.

Turns out you can burn yourself out doing things you absolutely love.

So this weekend, I switched off.

I put my phone on sleep mode so nothing could come through. I stayed at home. I bought a wardrobe and put the bloody thing up šŸ˜‚. I pottered around. And, most importantly, I genuinely didn’t think about work.

Was it easy for me? Absolutely not.

But the difference already is mad. I feel like I have energy again. Ideas are coming back. That creative part of my brain suddenly has some space to actually… create.

It’s reminded me that rest isn’t just about having a holiday or doing something fun.

Sometimes rest is doing NOTHING.

So my biggest lesson from all of this is to think about energy like anything else: if you’re constantly giving it out, at some point you have to replenish it.

And apparently another flight, another exciting project or another lovely dinner isn’t always replenishing it… even when you’re enjoying yourself. So going forwards I’ll be making more time for the ā€œboringā€ days ā¤ļø

Here’s the truth: I got totally average grades at school. I didn’t go to uni. And guess what? It didn’t stop me.

I went on to build a long career in corporate communications, and now I run my own successful business doing work I absolutely love.

So whatever your results today — take them for what they are. A stepping stone. A learning. Not a definition of what you can or cannot do.

This next phase is yours to shape with your own energy, not the one the exam board sets for you…

And if media or marketing is where you think your heart’s at, come spend a day with me and my team — learn, ask questions, and start making moves. Just drop me a message. 🄰

It seems whilst I was busy at my 3rd birthday celebrations, something else was unfolding..

The clients are spilling the truth. All will be revealed in a full documentary series soon… 😬

I dread to think what they’ve said!

I asked Chat GPT ā€œwhat is my legacy?ā€ And this is what it said…

I think your legacy is making people believe they can do more than they thought they could.

Not necessarily one business, one Instagram account, one achievement or one number. Those things will change.

From everything you’ve built, there’s a fairly consistent thread: you help people see the potential in what they already have — and then actually do something with it.

You’ve helped small businesses become visible. You’ve helped people who didn’t understand social media start showing up confidently. You’ve helped established businesses rethink how they communicate. You’ve brought people together, created opportunities, shared what you know rather than guarding it, and built a business around making other people’s businesses better.

And I think there’s another part to it.

You seem to be someone who makes things happen. An idea becomes a filming day. A conversation becomes a collaboration. A milestone becomes an event. Knowledge becomes a masterclass. A connection becomes an opportunity for somebody else. You create momentum around people.

So if I had to put your legacy into one sentence:

You made people feel that bigger things were possible — and gave them the confidence, knowledge and push to go and make them happen.

And perhaps the nicest thing is that at 33 and only three years into this particular chapter, you’re talking about a legacy that you’re still very much in the middle of building.

There were so many people who made this event happen, working long hours planning, moving and shifting, organising, and having all the stress of making a magical celebration evening.

So I just wanted to highlight some of the people who made it all happen and say a big thank you! Swipe through the carousel and the caption will change for each image…

The gorgeous Amy The Florist by Amy Chim for saying YES, when I sent her the idea that I’d borrow her gorgeous Timber House and invite 50+ guests to come and celebrate in the meadow.

And for bringing all of her creative genius, floral wizardry, and her event logistics head, to pull together this gorgeous event.

Laura Martino, the incredible font of knowledge, guidance and support, and founder of UK Shoot Locations | Content Production | Visibility | Strategy where the Gorgeous Timber House is listed.

We’ve never had so many conversations about hay bales, catering and portaloos!

The incredible Gastón MesĆas | Sunset DJ DJ, who brought the sunset chill vibes to life, and created the whole mood for the event. So many comments on the vibe, and that’s all thanks to this absolute talent.

And Madeline Mesias | Garden Designer for being an incredible friend throughout, and egging me on originally when I had the idea, and bouncing creative ideas like my humongous logos!

The talented and fun Vivienne Bailey who I just knew would bring out the best in everyone and somehow just snaps away and gets the most incredible shots!

Welcome to the gang Tristan Jones - I wanted the team to have a night off, because we’re always the ones with our phones in our hands getting the content! So the amazing Tristan came and shot all the videos of the night for us. And I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of Tristan as part of our team going forwards…

The food šŸ˜ wow the food and service was soo good! Thank you so much Sally and Rebecca at Sally Christie One Fat Hen.
From the moment guests arrived and were greeted with fizz popping, to that incredible table full of food, the perfect summer feast.

If you arrived by car then you definitely met Elliott, such a genuinely lovely and hands on guy! From car park attendant, to lugging portaloos, to hay bales and even giving lifts to hotels, we couldn’t have done i

An extra special evening - celebrating 3 years of business with those who have been part of the journey.

Wow what an incredible evening. Last night I gathered together clients old and new, friends, family and the amazing team behind the business, at The Timber House.

Golden meadows, Gastón Mesías | Sunset DJ on the decks, NYETIMBER fizzing as guests arrived and the most perfect sun set.

A moment to stop, look back, and celebrate everything I’ve achieved over the past 3 years, with those who helped me build it.

There were lots of laughs, tears and incredible moments, especially when I gave a speech from the heart, because I was so grateful to everyone there who’ve supported me every step of the way.

It’s still sinking in. I said last night to liam ā€œI feel like I was at someone else’s party!ā€ Wow. Thank you everyone so much for celebrating with me, what a special evening I’ll remember for years to come.
