I made and fitted an MDF window board. The customer just wanted it flat at the front. I glued and screwed it down, making sure it was level. I also sanded, caulked and filled the screw holes.

I also hung a new door with the chosen ironmongery, that the client supplied. I also fitted the architrave and caulked and filled the architrave a frame. All ready for the client to prime and gloss!

Thank you to all of the people that have used me for jobs and all of those that have taken the time to spread the word. This really has helped and it means the world to me.

From Monday 3rd March I will be working for a local firm, to insure I have regular work.

This isn't a goodbye, I am still going to be showing people my work on this page. Who knows, I may be advertising and concentrating on my Fleet Carpentry business again in the future!

I built a handy MDF cupboard on this platform. The clients wanted me to try and keep the materials cost down. This was the most cost effective but strong way I thought of.

As you can see, I was working to tight measurements to ensure the cupboard was as small as possible but still containing the boxes. To allow the door of the cupboard to open to as close to 90 degrees as possible and the door to be hung the way the client asked, I also took the old purtruding architrave off and replaced it with flat D-mould.

The customer said that they never liked these shelves. They wanted me to board them in, and they will be fixing a mirror to it. They also wanted me to put the shelves in a certain place to allow storage at the top, maybe jewellery on the narrow shelf and shoe storage under the bottom shelf. I also put a hanging rail in for them too!

This door couldn't shut because the frame was to narrow, as you can see. I ripped down and planed timber to the right dimensions. I planted these timbers on and caulked around them. With paint on them, you'd never know!

I made a loft hatch opening bigger, so that the plumber could fit a tank up there. I had to cut through rafters to do so, but I reinforced it...its solid.

I then made a new hatch out of ply (as requested by the client) and used black ironmongery and oak architrave, to match the rest of the barn.

I had to be very precise with these door hinges so that I didn't split the door. The client wanted to use these 4" hinges they had spare. I made it work though.
