Very well explained. High value crops such as carrots as potatoes can be justified to use irrigation. Cereals and grass do not produce the return to cover the extra price of irrigation for most years. This years intense heat stopped /killed our crops and I'm not sure irrigation would have helped for the whole farm. A few fields with multiple passes would have kept plants growing but at what cost?

Opened up the grain store to find loads of bruchid beetles flying out at me.

We have been busy harvesting our crops this week but the intense heat is drying the seeds and grains too much. This can cause problems when processing so we have been closely monitoring the moisture content and have had to stop at midday and wait until the next morning on a few occasions. Please look at the link below of us combining some triticale.

An area where a previous wild bird seed mix was planted has some volunteer phacelia. It's buzzing with bees and bumblebees, as well as a moth that flew off before I could take a photo.

Ewes and lambs trying to find each other after being separated for over an hour!
New coat day, ready for summer.

Ploughing some grass down ready for maize. Had about 40 crows picking worms for a few hours but they have been pushed away but the 12 or do Buzzards and one Red Kite.

Ive a block of land a few miles from the farm, every time I head up there, turn off the road and drop revs to go along the lane, I always get this error pop up. Where an I go to find out what the error codes mean? 2005 RB26
