The “handyman” has done it again! Over promised, under delivered and potentially even invalidated a client’s insurance!!

It genuinely makes us so angry!!

I don’t know how many times it has to be said before homeowners start paying attention??!!

Too many homeowners continue to be left high and dry, often unknowingly with invalidated home insurance, because of cowboy, rogue and unskilled (diy) tradespeople!

This is why credibility matters!

This is why Norfolk & Suffolk County Council’s SORT Stamp Out Rogue Traders campaigning along with the federation of master builders mandatory licensing for builders campaign, and improved training and support for aspiring tradespeople is so vital to the industry!!

The building industry is feeling the squeeze right now.

Despite Labours big promises of investment, growth and millions of new jobs and homes, the sector is actually seeing a noticeable downturn in business.

2.5% down so far this year across the entire sector. When work slows down, it doesn’t just affect builders… it actually affects homeowners too.

The reality is, genuine companies still have to keep the lights on while competing against rogue traders who are willing to do cash jobs and cowboy builders with little accountability if (and when) things go wrong.

And while yes, there will always be some companies who inflate prices unfairly, many reputable firms are simply charging what’s required to survive responsibly and continue employing people properly.
