Thanks to Bluestone tree and arb services who came in and did some moving of pallets of timber with the avant James did a great job and made our week much easier.

Just a snippet of a larger project I am working on don’t usually post until things are complete however these gates made especially to order by Daniel Bartle Joinery are so good I couldn’t resist look the absolutely class.

Some may say it’s only gates but the devils in the detail they are so detailed and perfectly worked they are art as much as gates

Maybe not everybodies cup of tea admittedly. But cloud pruning can certainly offer more interest within a garden or even prolong the useful life of a mature plant. This old taxus was full of diseased dead or dying stems the client wasn’t sure weather to have it taken out or not. I discussed cloud pruning with them and they went with it. As a horticulturist it’s never something we want to do is remove old plants like this taxus (yew) they tell a tale and have lived long lives so to give them more life is fantastic. It’s now become an eye catching plant to say the least it will take years of refinement to create the exact final look but none the less from ugly and imposing to attractive and airy.

With which will be remedied soon. Once the cause is fully identified and suitable measures of cure can be taken. It’s definitely been an adventure with ups and downs but considering it was an overgrown mess of nettles brambles and other unwanted vegetation the change is pretty outstanding. As the planting develops
Over the next few years it’s going to be a stunning area in what was once an ignored deserted wilderness of mess.

We put the fence up for this client in winter to keep their dogs to one half of the garden.

A few weeks ago we were re contracted to do some more work including this bed along it 102 perennials later on a very wet day it’s looking much more attractive. Looking forward to seeing it fill out over the next couple of years so it’s all colour. This will be low maintenance as far as weeding goes as there will be no soil visible for weeds to grow in. A much better solution to low maintenance gardening than artificial grass in our opinion. Just plant more plants.
