Well today marks the end of 3 and a half years of Beacon Gas Services Ltd - we completed our last job this afternoon and will now set about closing the business due to Ben taking a full time role elsewhere.

Can we thank everyone of you for supporting us over the past few years by using our services or just sharing our posts and recommending us to your friends.

We are excited to move on to the next chapter - best wishes to you all! 🙏

Powerflushed this system yesterday - it was absolutely filthy and the boiler was only 4 years old!
The timelapse is just one of the radiators being flushed over around 10 minutes. We managed to restore heat to one of 2 radiators that were really struggling and partially restore the other, that one really needs a repipe though as very poor flow through it.
New pump fitted, system balanced and inhibitor added.

Full strip down and clean service on this 37 year old Baxi Bermuda back boiler - same age as me and probably in better nick!

New burner sourced and fitted for the GF Super gas fire, these are now very hard to get hold of!

Vacuum service and full safety checks carried out and all good for another 12 months. Client is hoping to move this year so didn't want the expense of getting a new boiler despite the potential savings in gas by replacing.

Full strip and service on this Worcester Greenstar Highflow 550

Hadn't been touched for 7 years since it was installed and was in need of a bit of TLC - flat expansion vessel recharged, new electrodes, heat exchanger cleaned (used the new Karcher), new seals and cleaned out condensate trap and pump.

Good as new!

An old school repair on this older combi today.

Expansion vessels are prone to failure but on this Worcester 24 CDi they can be a very time consuming repair. If good access is available on the side of the boiler the rivets can be drilled out and the vessel removed out the side for much easier replacement - this whole job (new vessel, auto air vent and pressure relief valve) took around 50 minutes and only distrubed one water seal, as opposed to trying to remove the vessel from the front and disturbing practically every joint on the hydraulic block, this saved the customer a good chunk of labour time and less possibility of complications.

This client wanted to make a statement on this small piece of wall with a stunning brass designer radiator (client supplied) from

Pipework was a bit awkward on this as they had not 1st fixed to the width of the new radiator and I got it as a new job after all the tiling and plastering had been done. Happy with what we did though and client is happy which is the main thing. Looks much better than we thought it would!

🔥Combi Boiler Swap🔥

Replaced this old Worcester 24i RSF for a Baxi 624 Combi today for a lovely couple in Skelmersdale - the Worcester had started to give a few issues recently and the customer wanted something a bit more reliable but not too expensive, we gave a couple of options and they chose the Baxi with a 7 year warranty and EPH Combipak 4 controls wired in OpenTherm to regulate the flow temp automatically and a cleanse and magnetic filter pack.

Baxi have the option to rear pipe without a standoff kit but I always get the rear pipework kit as it is such a great timesaver and keeps everything neat and tidy 👍

Replaced this Glow-Worm HXI for a local customer which had been condemned by a national company recently as the chassis was rotten through.
The boiler was fitted in a really tight position within a kitchen cupboard which made replacing it difficult - managed to get it all to fit and even managed to get the cupboard back in and the boxing in all back (forgot to take an after pic 🙈).

Replaced it with a Baxi 616 Heat Only boiler which comes with a 7 year warranty as standard, also carried out a full powerflush of the filthy system and managed to restore heat to 2 radiators that weren't working due to blockages! Replaced the pump and fitted a filter for ongoing protection and balanced everything up and fitted CondensatePro on the external condensate pipe to prevent freezing in winter.

Serviced this 12 year old Baxi Duotec today - still in fantastic condition! Needed a new burner seal and a spark electrode and was good as new! The filter clearly doing it's job too.

Another boiler swap completed this week for a lovely family in St Helens - fantastic Viessmann 100w 19kw in to replace this now unreliable Potterton Promax - full powerflush completed on this one as well as fitting a magnetic filter on the boiler.

7 year warranty as standard and this family are now all set for winter ❄

Viessmann Boiler Install 🔥

Fitted this Viessmann 100 Combi for a lovely couple in Newburgh, been servicing the old Worcester Greenstar for a couple of years but it really was on it's last legs!
The flue had originally been fitted at such a steep fall back into the boiler that during some heavy rainfall it would flood the boiler.
A national company had fitted the old boiler and flue, look at the state of the old brickwork and flue angle! I employed a local bricklayer on this one to completely renew the brickwork around the flue and I matched the bricks from The Brick Store in Wigan who were really helpful! Customer was over the moon with the difference.

The boiler was fitted with a Google Nest and on Opentherm for load compensation, system cleansed and balanced with Spirotech MB3 Filter and RV2 Deaerator. The radiators have all been replaced by myself over the last 2 years and the system was very clean anyway so should help this new boiler last for many years.

Standard 7 Year warranty on this model with option to extend to 12 years for £220 which is great value!
