We're into the final stages of this kitchen renovation and it's great to see everything coming together.

The gas hob is being fitted, the tiling and splashbacks are going in, and we're getting everything ready for the final coats of paint. These are the details that really bring the space to life, and we give them the same care and attention as every part of the build.

There's still a little bit to do, but we're looking forward to showing you the finished result very soon.

Every stage of a renovation matters, even the parts you'll never see once the project is complete.

This kitchen is really coming together.
The units are fitted, the walls have all been plastered and are ready for decorating, and our electrician is completing the second fix.

One thing we're particularly pleased with is the underfloor heating. The previous installation had been completed to a poor standard, so we stripped it back and installed the pipework and electrics correctly before moving forward.

Today the flooring goes down, the worktops are being digitally laser templated for a perfect fit.
It's another step closer to handing over a kitchen that's built to last.

There's something special about working on a building that's stood for over 400 years.

We recently completed the renovation of one side of this beautiful barn for a valued returning client, taking the time to protect its character while giving it the attention it needed for many more years to come.

The work included:

• Erecting scaffolding for safe access
• Stripping away all of the old timber cladding
• Repairing and replacing sections of the original oak frame where rot had taken hold
• Installing breathable membrane before fitting new timber cladding
• Renewing the leadwork around the windows
• Finishing everything with a high quality barn paint for lasting protection and a smart finish

Older buildings deserve careful workmanship and the right materials. Every repair was carried out with the aim of preserving the structure while improving its durability against the elements.

It's always a pleasure to be trusted by returning clients, especially on projects with so much history.

There's been plenty happening on site this week.

Stoicho and I have been fitting the new kitchen while John has been plastering and Brian has been fitting the new windows and doors. Alongside that we've been getting the plaster boarding finished and preparing each area for the next stage.

The biggest part of a project like this isn't only the building work. It's making sure every trade works together in the right order so the project keeps moving without unnecessary delays.

Lots of moving parts, plenty of teamwork and another step closer to the finished result.

Before the new finishes go down, the groundwork needs to be right.

This stage has been all about preparing the ground floor ready for levelling. In the main dining room, we stripped everything back to the timber sleepers after finding the original floor was badly installed and the timber had rotted. From there, we rebuilt that section with new timber to create a solid foundation.

At the same time, we installed all the necessary pipework for the new radiators and WC, along with the ducting for the new extractor fan.

To finish this phase, we levelled the existing kitchen area with levelling compound, bringing the entire downstairs onto one consistent level ready for the next stage of the renovation.

It's the sort of work that disappears once the finished floor goes down, but it's one of the most important parts of the whole project. Quality starts with what you don't see.
