Why are raised sleeper beds such a popular addition to gardens?

Because they do a lot more than simply frame your plants!

From the projects pictured here, you can see how sleeper beds can:

Has the heatwave turned your lawn brown? Don’t panic just yet!

In prolonged hot, dry weather, established lawns often go dormant. They may look scorched, patchy or completely brown, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they need replacing. In many cases, they’ll start to recover once cooler, wetter weather returns.

A few things you can do now:

🌿 Raise your mower height and avoid cutting the grass too short. Close mowing puts extra stress on drought-hit lawns.

💧 Don’t keep lightly watering an established lawn every day. If local restrictions allow watering, prioritise new turf and newly planted areas instead. Always check your water company’s current rules first.

👣 Give badly scorched areas a break from heavy foot traffic while the grass is stressed.

Then think about recovery. Early autumn is an ideal time to repair thin or damaged lawns, whether that means reseeding, repairing patches or relaying turf where the lawn is beyond recovery.

Who says you need a huge garden to do something fun with it? ⛳🌿

This compact outdoor space in 📍Iver could easily have been left as a narrow, awkward strip.

Instead, we turned it into a bespoke putting green using artificial grass, making the area feel purposeful, playful and far more enjoyable to use.

It’s a great example of how creative landscaping can make even a small garden work harder.

Whether that means:

• a compact deck

• or a low-maintenance artificial lawn

A tired fence can make the whole garden feel tired.

As part of our recent project in Stoke Poges, we took this tired, weathered section of the garden and gave it a completely new backdrop.

The old fencing had seen better days, so we replaced it with fresh timber fencing, creating a much cleaner and more contemporary boundary. We then turned our attention to the planting area — clearing the space, preparing the beds and getting everything ready for the new planting.

And that’s the difference with a full garden makeover: fencing, planting, landscaping and the finishing touches can all be considered together, rather than treated as separate jobs.

The new fence already changes the whole feel of the space — and this was only one stage of the wider transformation.

A new fence can do more than mark the boundary of your garden.

For this recent fencing project in Stoke Poges, we replaced the existing boundary with a new timber fence, creating a much cleaner, more secure and private space along the side of the property.

Working in a long, narrow access area like this also means getting the details right - keeping the fence line consistent, working around the existing pathway and property, and making sure the finished installation feels neat from end to end.

Fencing is just one part of what we do at Green View Landscaping. Whether it’s a standalone fence replacement or part of a bigger garden transformation, we can take care of the job from start to finish!

A complete garden refresh in 📍Stoke Poges!

This garden had plenty of established greenery, but the beds had become heavily overgrown and the whole area was ready for some attention.

For this project, we:

🌿 Cleared and cut back the overgrown planting
🌱 Retained established shrubs that still worked well in the garden
🪴 Introduced a selection of new plants to add colour, texture and variety
🪵 Added fresh mulch to give the beds a clean, finished look and help suppress weeds�🔨 Replaced the old fencing with new timber panels
✨ Tidied and reorganised the entire planting area to create a much more considered space

The result is a garden that feels completely refreshed without losing all of the established planting and character that was already there!
