🌳 From standing Yew… to stunning timber 🪵

This was a mature Yew we took down a few years back when it sadly died off.
Rather than seeing it all go for firewood, we had the chance to recover the trunk and mill it down into boards.

The colour in this timber is unreal — deep reds, purples and swirling grain you just don’t get in many species. Proper “one of a kind” stuff.

It’s a nice reminder that even when a tree reaches the end of its life, it can still be turned into something special instead of going to waste.

(And yes… the yard supervisor has inspected it and approves ✅🐶)
