Another proud moment this week for Fitz Fire & Security! 🔥
We’re really pleased to announce that Fitz Fire & Security Ltd has achieved BAFE SP203-1 certification, covering the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
It’s been a busy few months for us as a company, working hard behind the scenes to achieve our recent accreditations whilst continuing to manage the everyday demands of a busy fire and security business.
Fire safety has always been a huge part of what we do, and we’ve worked hard over the years to build our knowledge, develop our engineers and continually improve the standard of service we provide.
Achieving BAFE certification is another important milestone for us. It recognises not just the work we carry out on site, but also the systems, procedures and checks that go on behind the scenes to ensure we’re delivering a consistent and professional service.
For our customers, it provides that extra reassurance that our fire alarm services are independently assessed against recognised industry standards.
For us, it’s about continuing to build a company that takes pride in its work, invests in its people and always strives to do things properly.
A big thank you to everyone at Fitz Fire & Security who has contributed to achieving this. There’s been a lot of hard work involved, and it’s something the whole team can be proud of.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re looking forward to what’s next.

🚨 3 signs your fire or security system was installed to a poor standard 🚨
1️⃣ Messy cabling & exposed wiring
If it looks rushed, it probably was. Poor cabling often leads to faults and failures.
2️⃣ Constant false alarms
Bad positioning and cheap components = unreliable detection.
3️⃣ No handover or documentation
If you weren’t shown how it works or given system details, that’s a red flag.
A properly installed system should be neat, reliable, and fully explained.
📞 Fitz Fire & Security — professional security installations you can trust.

🚨 Cheap security systems can cost you more in the long run 🚨
That bargain system might look good on paper… but when it really matters, will it actually protect you?
❌ Poor detection & false alarms
❌ Limited coverage
❌ No professional monitoring or support
❌ Often not compliant or future-proof
A proper security system is an investment in protection, not just a box on the wall.
✔ Designed for your premises
✔ Installed & maintained by professionals
✔ Reliable when it counts
Don’t gamble with your security to save a few quid.
📞 Speak to Fitz Fire & Security for security systems that actually work.

🔥 How Often Should a Fire Risk Assessment Be Reviewed? 🔥
A Fire Risk Assessment isn’t a one-off document — it must be kept up to date to remain compliant.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, a Fire Risk Assessment should be reviewed:
✔ At least annually
✔ After any significant changes to the building layout or use
✔ Following a fire, near miss or incident
✔ When occupancy levels or vulnerable persons change
Regular reviews ensure risks to relevant persons are identified and controlled — helping you stay compliant and protect lives.

🧯 Fire Extinguishers: Are Yours Being Checked? 🧯
Fire extinguishers are your first line of defence in a fire — but only if they’re in date, accessible and properly maintained.
As a minimum, extinguishers should be:
✔ Visually checked monthly
✔ Serviced annually by a competent Technician
✔ Correct type for the risk
✔ Clearly signed and unobstructed
Regular checks help ensure equipment works when needed and keeps you compliant with current fire-safety guidance.
