Whippenscott Copse Barbecue charcoal, traditional hedge laying, fencing and woodland management.

Nettelfields BBQ charcoal is made onsite here at Strawberry Field using only wood from our own woodland that adjoins the field. The woodland is coppiced every winter in a sustainable 14 year cycle and the regrowth protected from the pesky deer. Coppicing is great for bio-diversity and we have seen great improvements in the ground flora in just 2 years. We live onsite and ever since buying the land we have been busily creating a productive, nature-rich, largely self-sufficient smallholding.
