Some bespoke units and shelving made recently for a new customer in South Shields. These serve as a functional but stylish way of maximising what could otherwise be an awkward space, one alcove features floating shelves whilst the other houses a large floor to ceiling cupboard with adjustable shelving to suit any storage needs. The painted doors and frontals look great against the oak veneered internals.

What a week for Simonside Joinery 🙄

A day off work with the man flu 😷 and still not feeling 💯 on return, but hate letting my customers down so I soldiered on

Friday evening reversing onto my drive and looking forward to the weekend the power steering broke on my van!! The hose blew off!!
Oil everywhere but luckily I had a bag of sand to soak the mess up.

Hoping for a better week and the van gets fixed on Monday 🤞please bare with me as I play catch up

A kind customer who I’ve carried out work for over the years generously gave me some of her late father’s joinery tools as she knew they would be greatly appreciated and used, so in return I made her a solid walnut desk top incorporating breadboard ends which prevents it from warping. I applied three coats of osmo oil which enhanced the wood grain and gave it a satin finish. The husband fitted the hairpin legs and jobs a good un!! 👍

Pink = Come on Barbie, let’s go party!! 🎉 😂

A fitted kitchen I started before Christmas 2025 in Hebburn. Only just completed this kitchen due to damaged parts.

Panelling and display shelf was also made and installed by me.

Customers design with a few hiccups along the way however nothing that Simonside Joinery couldn’t fix. Overall I was well impressed with her planning, design and colour choice. 🌟
