Solar, wind, heat pumps - the investment is there.
But the results don’t always match.

The issue is usually the same.
Energy is being produced at the wrong time.

Without battery storage, a lot of that generation is either used instantly or exported, while electricity is still being bought back later when demand increases.

At Sheepdrove Organic Farm, we focused on fixing that.

Using a Victron-based system with large-scale battery storage, we designed a setup that stores energy when it’s produced and makes it available when the farm actually needs it.

High-consumption properties often face a difficult balance - significant energy demand, complex infrastructure and rising costs.

In this case, the property was using over 150,000kWh annually, with multiple grid supplies and an energy bill reaching around £40,000 per year.

Reducing demand wasn’t the objective. Improving how that energy was managed was.

We designed and implemented a system combining large-scale battery storage, solar generation and intelligent tariff optimisation - all integrated into a single, cohesive setup.

The outcome was a reduction of over 70% in energy costs, alongside a far more efficient and controlled system.
