wanted to share a recent project we completed for a customer in Polygon. She had hired a builder to install fencing, but the results were far from acceptable:
Gravel boards installed above ground level ❌
Fencing not straight ❌
A poorly constructed gate ❌
We were initially brought in to construct a small gate, but upon hearing her experience—where the builder charged her double for the fencing and gate, and even threatened her with violence if she left a bad review—we felt compelled to act.
To help her avoid further dealings with this builder, we offered to build a new double gate free of charge. She had already paid him a final amount that he clearly didn't deserve.
At S/O Landscape Services, we cannot stand to see anyone taken advantage of. With the rise of unvetted landscapers on social media, we decided to give back to the community by assisting those in need. We only charged for the small gate, and upon completion, we provided a 10-year warranty to restore her faith in the trades.
We encourage everyone to thoroughly vet their contractors and choose accredited installers. The number of projects we’ve had to fix this year is concerning.
While the customer chose not to disclose the builder’s name due to fear of retaliation, we would have loved to call them out and blacklist them from further work.
Job completed, and it feels great to make a positive impact.
