Keeping You Safe And Warm During The Cold Weather
With an amber weather warning in place for snow across the region, we’re putting our final plans in place to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses.

Whatever the weather, we operate the National Gas Emergency Service in the south of England and across Scotland 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our engineers are here to keep you safe in a gas emergency. If you smell gas or have concerns about gas safety, you can call us on 0800 111 999.

We look after the gas network up to your meter – the National Gas Emergency Service won’t be able to help with boiler or appliance issues.

If your boiler stops working in the cold weather, it’s your boiler care provider or a Gas Safe registered engineer who can help. It’s worth checking first that your boiler’s condensate pipe hasn’t frozen. Follow our social media channels – on Twitter or search ‘SGN’ on Facebook – for advice on how you can safely thaw a frozen condensate pipe.

Q.If I moved to a newer model of electric shower, are they easy to replace❓

🙋Yes, they are relatively simple to replace. If you choose a new model with the same connections this allows for a really simple replacement. However, we have showers such as the Mira Jump and Mira Sport Multi-fit which can cater for many different installations. If you're going to a higher kilowatt you'll need to check cable size!
