Today we attended another domestic property following a house fire to assess the condition of the electrical installation.

Unfortunately, we are seeing and visiting far too many fire-damaged properties at the moment.

But there was one very important thing that made a huge difference at this property…

They provided an early warning when it mattered most.

Without working smoke and heat detectors, the outcome of a house fire could be very, very different.

Our assessment has found that the electrical installation has suffered significant damage, and we will be providing our client with a report confirming that a full rewire of all circuits, together with a new consumer unit, will be required.

NEW COMMERCIAL PROJECT STARTED

Today we started work on this large commercial unit in Hailsham, which is currently a shell ready for our team to transform into a fully operational distribution hub for a previous customer relocating their southern depot from Totton to Hailsham.

Our electrical installation will include:

🔹 Multiple 3-phase distribution boards
🔹 Containment systems
🔹 High-bay rack lighting to the warehouse
🔹 Emergency lighting
🔹 3-phase EV car chargers
🔹 Forklift charging points
🔹 Small power
🔹 And plenty more as the project progresses

It’s a fantastic-sized project and we’re looking forward to seeing it develop from the current shell into a fully operational commercial facility.

Today, OEC Electrical Systems Ltd started work on two very different projects, showcasing the wide range of electrical services we provide.

Our first project is at a beautiful home in Beaulieu, where we’re carrying out a full property rewire following a fire. From the outside, there’s very little evidence of the damage, but unfortunately the fire caused extensive damage internally, making a complete rewire essential to ensure the property is safe and ready for restoration.

Our second project is at an industrial unit in Romsey for a valued returning customer. As their business continues to grow and expand, they’ve taken on a second premises. We’re replacing the existing outdated panel board with new switchgear, completing a full LED lighting upgrade, installing additional metal-clad sockets throughout the warehouse, and carrying out various other electrical improvements to support their expanding operation.

Full-Time Electrician Required

Due to continued growth, OEC Electrical Systems Ltd is looking to recruit a full-time Electrician to join our expanding team.

We are seeking a fully qualified Electrician with a minimum of five years’ experience. A City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification would be advantageous but is not essential, as further fully funded training will be provided for the right candidate.

Based in Southampton, OEC Electrical Systems Ltd delivers projects across a large part of the UK. The majority of your work will be within Hampshire and the surrounding areas; however, occasional travel and overnight stays will be required.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, professional, and growing company where no two days are the same. Our work spans a wide range of sectors, including domestic electrical works, fire-damaged property rewires, school lighting installations, and large-scale commercial and industrial projects.
