🌟 Why panting for some breeds is ineffective to naturally help to cool down

We all know by now that dogs cool themselves down by 2 main methods

💨Natural Cooling Ways

🥵Panting: This Evaporates moisture from their respiratory tract by moving air over moist surfaces in the tongue, mouth, and lungs to release heat.

🐾Paw sweating: Minor sweat glands in the pads provide a tiny amount of moisture release.

But

And again here is the scarey bit for some breeds ‼️

🐶Brachycephalic (flat-faced) dogs struggle to cool themselves because shortened snouts and narrow airways make panting highly inefficient.

⚠️This causes them to overheat up to 14 times faster than other breeds.

YES 1️⃣4️⃣ X faster
and from Part One you already know you only have that very small window of a few degrees from fine to not fine ⛔️

Managing ALL dogs environment is vital as they can’t do it all themselves
For flat faced breads this is CRITICAL

Only yesterday I saw a FB post of a French Bull dog being left in a car in a supermarket carpark ! 😡😡😡

You do not need to take your dog to a supermarket so leave them at home !

(Update as of Monday 22.30)
Outside the YMCA Fairthorne Manor Botley-Curdridge

After the repair was made to the road this evening the whole pipe has burst this time.

Only time will tell how many more times this stretch will fail. This is now the 4th time that I’m aware of.

Watch the video at the end which is when Botley actually flooded!

I’ve spoken to people on site who had just managed to isolate the issue and started to dig the hole back out.
The water board guys and girls have been great and very responsive.

But it really doesn’t help our water bills, or the state of our failing roads.

The road is still closed outside the YMCA Fairthorn and will be for possibly the rest of the week.

The footpath is open and clean.
