Our Rosewood boys have been at it again!

This time, the team have been busy carrying out a toilet refurbishment at Barton Peveril College.

We’ve been making the most of the summer holidays to give the facilities a much-needed spruce-up while the students are away, getting everything fresh and ready for the start of the new academic year.

At Rosewood Building Services, our responsibility towards the environment extends far beyond the projects we deliver.

Last week, our team came to the aid of two wild animals in need – a deer and a hedgehog. 🦌🦔

We were contacted by a client, who knows our commitment to nature after a deer had become trapped in security fencing. A special mention goes to Rob, who responded quickly, carefully freed the deer, and safely released it back into the wild, even suffering an injury requiring a hospital visit in the line of duty.

The hedgehog was discovered with material tightly wrapped around its neck, so our team took it to a local veterinary practice for treatment. Thankfully, after receiving the care it needed, it made a full recovery and has also been released back into its natural habitat.

No animals were harmed during either rescue, and we're delighted that both have been given a second chance in the wild.

These moments are a reminder that construction and maintenance work often takes place alongside nature. That's why environmental responsibility is embedded in everything we do. From protecting local wildlife and preserving habitats to carefully planning our works to minimise environmental impact, we're committed to leaving every site better than we found it.

Rosewood have also, as part of our work with Southampton International Airport Limited , constructed hibernacula to provide safe habitats for reptiles and invertebrates, helping to protect and enhance local biodiversity for years to come.

We're incredibly proud of and the rest of our team for taking the time to do the right thing. Looking after our environment isn't just part of our job—it's one of our core values.

Last week we were pleased to welcome a year 10 student called Charlie, to Rosewood for his work experience placement.

Throughout the week, Charlie got stuck into a variety of tasks, gaining hands-on experience across different areas of the construction industry. From stripping out mechanical equipment and assisting with decorating, to supporting our team with groundworks, he showed a fantastic attitude, eagerness to learn and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

At Rosewood, we're passionate about helping to inspire the next generation by giving young people real insight into what a career in construction looks like. We hope Charlie enjoyed his time with us and wishes him every success in the future.

Another project underway in a unique and environmentally sensitive location, working alongside Forestry England to help maintain and improve facilities for visitors and the local community.

Since February, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has become an even bigger part of what we do outside of construction 🙌

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting this incredible charity, Gary Bowers and the team have been assisting with Aluminium Can Recycling collections across the region every 2 weeks

From hubs in Warsash, Gosport, Swanmore, Wickham and Botley, the support from the local community has honestly been incredible.

March saw the BIGGEST collection month ever… raising an amazing £2,098.46 👏
That’s the equivalent of around 20,400 aluminium cans collected and recycled!

Even more impressively, Aluminium Can Recycling has now raised over £50,000 for HIOWAA 🚁❤️
A monumental effort by everyone involved.

A massive thank you to all the neighbours, friends, families, businesses and supporters continuing to save cans and help make a difference every single week.

Another major milestone completed 👏

We’re incredibly proud to have successfully handed over the new home for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance — a project that means so much not only to our team, but to the wider community across the South.

This project has been a fantastic example of what can be achieved through teamwork, planning, collaboration and a shared commitment to delivering something truly special.

From early planning stages through to final handover, our team remained focused on quality, safety, communication and attention to detail every step of the way, all within a live and complex working environment.

A huge thank you to our staff, clients, consultants, supply chain partners and everyone involved in helping bring this incredible facility to life. It’s been a privilege to play a part in creating a space that will support such an important lifesaving service for years to come!

Integrating new infrastructure into live airside operations is never straightforward—particularly when it involves safety-critical systems.

As part of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) project, Rosewood Construction Services Ltd has been entrusted by Southampton Airport to deliver the integration of the airport’s first dedicated helipad into the Airfield Ground Lighting Control System (AGLCS).

This goes well beyond installing new assets. The AGLCS is directly linked to NATS Air Traffic Control (ATC), forming a critical layer in how aircraft movements, and airside vehicle operations, are safely controlled across the aerodrome.

Working within that environment demands a high level of confidence from the client. Our role has involved detailed system interfacing, close coordination with multiple stakeholders, and rigorous testing and commissioning carried out within a live, operational ATC tower.

It’s a strong reflection of the trust placed in Rosewood to operate within complex, highly regulated environments where construction, infrastructure and operational systems converge, and where getting it right first time isn’t optional.

👷‍♀️ The backbone of Rosewood? The people who keep everything organised behind the scenes. 👷‍♀️

With International Women’s Day this weekend, we wanted to recognise the fantastic women who play such an important role in our team.

At Rosewood, Anna Crowshaw (Group Finance Manager) and Samantha Colling (Administrator & Business Development) are very much the backbone of our business. From keeping our finances in order to ensuring the day-to-day running of the company stays organised, their dedication, attention to detail and professionalism help keep everything on track behind the scenes. Quite simply, the business wouldn’t run as smoothly without them.

It’s also encouraging to see greater representation of women entering the construction industry, bringing valuable skills, perspectives and energy to a sector that has traditionally been male-dominated. Across the industry, from project leadership and professional roles to skilled trades, the landscape is gradually changing for the better.

We’re also proud to have a female electrical apprentice working on one of our live sites, where she has been part of the team from the very beginning of the project, a great example of the next generation helping shape the future of construction.

To Anna, Sammy, and all the women contributing to the construction industry, thank you for the role you play in keeping projects, teams and businesses moving forward.
