🥵 EVERYONE SEES THE BLOCKAGE… NOBODY SEES WHERE WE HAVE TO GO TO CLEAR IT! 🚽

Today’s weekend emergency blocked toilet had us crawling into the narrow eaves of a loft, balancing in the corner, sweating buckets in the heat and wondering why plumbing never seems to happen in convenient places 😂

But this is where things got interesting…

Rather than attacking the blockage blind, we fed our CCTV camera down the soil stack and then carefully worked the high-pressure jetting hose down alongside it. This meant we could watch the blockage live on screen while breaking it apart at the same time 👀

Think of it as keyhole surgery for drains.

The culprit turned out to be a huge lump of scale build-up that had gradually formed inside the pipe over time. One satisfying blast later and it finally gave way, restoring full flow to both toilets 💪

The best bit? You can actually watch the blockage disappear on the camera as it happens.

🩺 PLUMBING ENDOSCOPY: Clearing the hidden blockage 🚰 ❤️‍🩹

📍 Whiteley, Fareham

This one felt more like surgery than plumbing 👀

Hidden behind the bathroom worktop and beneath the basin, we had our camera and high-pressure jetting hose working together inside the soil stack to tackle a blockage you’d never spot from the outside.

The issue? Over time, a constantly running toilet can cause scale to build up inside the soil pipe. In this case, it had gradually covered the bath waste outlet where it connects into the stack — restricting flow and eventually leading to full blockages.

A bit like arteries in the body narrowing over time, the pipe slowly becomes restricted until things stop flowing properly 🩺➡️🚰

Using the camera to get eyes on the problem and the jetting hose to carefully break away the build-up, we got everything flowing freely again 👌

If you’ve got slow drainage, recurring blockages or strange gurgling in the bathroom, sometimes the problem is hidden where you’d never think to look.

Today’s emergency blockage had been slowly building up over weeks… but with the right approach (and a satisfying tug of the drain rods in the right direction 😏) it was cleared in seconds.

🚰 Outside tap upgrade & repair completed 👌

Location: Botley

This one came to us after ongoing leaks caused by movement and stress on the pipework and joints.

We replaced what was already there, made everything far more secure, and installed a solid wooden back panel to properly support the pipework and outside tap — helping prevent unnecessary strain on the joints (which is exactly what had caused issues before).

Sometimes it’s not just about fixing the leak — it’s about fixing why it happened in the first place 💪

Now it’s all securely in place, ready for insulation and pressure testing before sign-off ✅

🌴 One of the more unusual things we’ve spotted while out on a job…

We came across this incredible towel rail/radiator at a customer’s home — complete with a palm tree beach scene on it 😍🔥

Safe to say, it definitely caught our attention! Who knew a radiator could double up as wall art?

One of the best things about the job is seeing all the different styles, ideas and quirky features people have in their homes — and this one is definitely up there 👏

So… be honest — would you have this in your bathroom, or is it a bit too tropical? 👇 nice and toasty even with the heating off, in my opinion!

🚿 Leak hidden behind tiles? No problem.

One thing we pride ourselves on at ABLE Plumbing is finding the problem without turning your home upside down.

On today’s job we carefully accessed a leaking pipe through a perfectly cut tile, repaired the issue, then replaced and regrouted it so once we’re finished… it looks like we were never even there 👌

👋 We know… it’s been a little quiet on here lately — but we’re back!

While we haven’t been posting, we’ve definitely been busy keeping people’s plumbing running 💪🚰
