🚨 Do the batteries need replacing?
🚨 Check the date stamp - Replace at least every 10 years.
🚨 Always look to use an approved installer of smoke alarms.

This month we've been as busy as Santa's elves! 🎅

From a kitchen refurb for Josie's ******er, to an AV install alongside SBS Events at a church in . ⛪

We've also been working on an installation at a local, internationally recognised snake breeder. Not your average day in the office! 🐍

On top of all the usual maintenance we look after at various hotels, restaurants and offices we've perhaps had the most important job of all... Finishing a large domestic kitchen job in time for Christmas Day Lunch! 🍗

We don't know about you, but we're looking forward to a sit down with a mince pie and a cup of tea 🥧

If you ever smell burning or see any signs of overheating from a plug & socket, please don’t leave it until it results in this scenario!

If in any doubt, switch off the appliance and if possible unplug it as well.

Then call an electrician to check the socket!

⚡ Do you have appliances which are never switched off at the plug, like your kettle?
⚡ Have you ever lost power to your sockets which you couldn't reset?

Read on to see how you could potentially avoid a costly call out to an emergency electrician!

We've had a couple of recent call outs where the electricity had tripped and wouldn't reset. Both of these particular jobs were due to kettles which were either leaking or had boiled over!

❓ Did you know that the bases and plug connections to kettles are always live if they're switched on, even if the kettle isn't in use? So many appliances these days are left on standby with the electric passing through many components before reaching it's on/off switch, all of which have the potential to develop faults.

If you lose the electricity to your sockets and need to reset, always:
⚡ Turn off every appliance that is plugged in
⚡ Unplug all appliances if you can
⚡ Then try resetting the electrics

Both of these recent costly call outs could have been avoided if the customer had switched everything off before trying to reset the electrics!

We had our Friday-Feeling back on Monday evening (when it was still sunny...!)

We fixed the heat lamps at HarBar to keep all you lovely people warm in the evenings. Such a great view!

Making a house a home 🏡

Sometimes it's the little touches that make a big difference. This client had just moved into a new house, & wanted a light installed by their front door as well as a video doorbell. Job done!

We spent part of our weekend on the roof of Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa; literally!

We’re in the middle of repairing the lighting and heating for the retractable roof on the magnificent terrace of the HarBAR.

This outside terrace bar re-opens on Wednesday 14th April - We can't wait to enjoy an evening drink overlooking the Solent 🍻

We spent most of our Saturday at Josie's in (not a bad place to work at the weekend!). Unfortunately, they had an electrical problem that forced the shop to shut and a call out to SSE.

It looked like it would have to remain shut for the rest of the day, but between Neil's Electrical Services and SSE we managed to get the shop back open by 3pm!

Josie's are currently open for take-away - Well worth a visit if you're local to Romsey, ******er, or ☕
