***Central heating advice***

During the water outage, you are safe to continue to use your heating as normal

If you have a combi boiler unfortunately you will be suffering the water shortage

If you have a gravity fed, stored water system ie cold water storage tanks in the loft you will still be able to use the water in the tank for bathing

If you have a shower pump this will use it up quickly so use the water wisely

If your toilets are mains water and not filling up but you have gravity stored water you could fill a bucket from the bath tap and flush your toilets with it

All of course until the water in the stored tank runs out

Hope that helps some as we are getting a few messages from our customers worried about protecting their boilers 😊

URGENT INFORMATION for any of our customers with recently fitted Ideal boilers

There is a safety recall for some Ideal boilers please read below

The following extract has been taken from Ideal’s website

We have identified a potential issue with a number of our boilers.
In a small proportion of the affected range of boilers (approximately 1 in 10,000), if an excessive volume of air has become trapped inside the boiler in a fault condition, it could cause the boiler to overheat and fail.
At Ideal Heating, we are committed to ensuring the quality, reliability and the safety of our products.
For this reason, we will apply a safety upgrade to boilers manufactured between August 2022 and 7th January 2024 across the following ranges:
* Logic Combi2
* Logic System2
* Logic + Combi2
* Logic + System2
* Logic Max Combi2
* Logic Max System2
* iMini2
* Independent Combi2
* Keston Combi2
* Keston System2

Boilers in current production are not affected.
We are directly contacting everyone who has registered the warranty of an affected boiler and asking them to visit www.idealsupport.co.uk to register their details to enable us to arrange an engineer visit or call us free of charge on 0808 175 9173.
Customers can also check if the boiler in their home is affected using the dedicated webpage www.idealsupport.co.uk or by calling the freephone number 0808 175 9173.

Thank you so much for all those who are recommending us, there is a common trend relating to the weather freezing condensate pipes which is the white drain pipe coming from the boiler going outside
If yours has frozen please pour warm water (not boiling) over the length of the pipe until it has fully defrosted
Then contact us to look for future solutions to avoid it happening again
This could save you call out charges and unnecessary inconvenience
