🔥 Boiler servicing and why is it a good idea…?
❓This is a common question gas engineers are asked by customers. This week one of my customers contacted me about their boiler as it was not working. This is a fairly new boiler (4 years old) and it was a top of the range boiler, one which comes with a 10 year guarantee*
I ran a few checks on the boiler to establish what I believed to be the issue and then contacted the manufacturer to ask if they were covered under the guarantee and fortunately they were. Almost every manufacturer will ask if the customer has the boiler serviced annually, which in this case they had so the manufacturer sent out an engineer the next day and got a number of the parts replaced and most importantly got the boiler back on and working. This meant the customer didn't need to pay out for any of this!
Other reason why you should get your boiler serviced annually:
✅ Adjustments can be made to ensure it's working correctly and efficiently
✅ Visual inspection of the internal components can be checked and replaced if damaged or showing signs of wear and tear
✅ Ensuring the boiler is not producing high levels of carbon monoxide
✅ Checking they the safety devices are working correctly
✅ Checking the water quality of the central heating water and adding chemicals if needed to help control rusting
✅ *Ensuring you maintain a valid warranty / guarantee with the manufacturer
