Loft conversion on current job taking shape almost ready for building the dormer next week with pitched roof and valleys to key into original roof

Throwback to an old competition entry we carried out on behalf of a Client which was unfortunately a runner up.

The brief was to create 6 new homes in a very rural location of Scotland. 🌲🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The timber framed designs encouraged community engagement with shared parking and outdoor leisure facilities. To further encourage local support the design had a concrete render with inset stone from the surrounding area which was to be applied by the local schoolchildren.

The unusual orientation and material selection was to help the development appear like a small holding when viewed from a distance. This is something very common within its context and helps to make sure that the site itself took pride of place and not the new houses!

Current job close to finish now just windows doors and utility to fit

Last job before Christmas almost complete internal and external gables where severely leaning due too sandstone being badly perished, new block work gable built and external gable built with original brick, new sandstone bands and centre piece installed with original copings back on top, just need to mastic point and linseed oil brick work now.
