Britain continues to break clean energy records ⚡☀️

New figures released recently by the UK Government show that 2025 was the strongest year ever recorded for solar deployment across the UK, with over 269,000 new installations completed.

Nearly 23,000 new solar installations were added in April 2026 alone, with more than half installed on homes, as rising energy costs and global instability continue to drive demand for greater energy independence.

The government also confirmed:
✔ 9 of the 10 strongest months for solar deployment have happened within the last year
✔ The UK passed 2 million total solar installations earlier this year
✔ Solar installation costs have reduced by up to 9%
✔ Businesses and public sector organisations are increasingly investing in solar and battery systems to reduce operational costs and improve energy resilience

This is a SolaX AELIO 100kWh battery energy storage system being delivered and unboxed ahead of installation.

Designed for commercial and industrial applications, systems like this help sites store renewable energy, make better use of on-site generation and reduce reliance on the grid. The AELIO range is designed specifically for commercial energy storage applications and can support larger-scale energy management requirements.

It's always exciting to see a project start to come together, especially when the equipment arriving on site is this impressive.

From unpredictable energy costs to over 45% self-sufficient.

Lower Blakemere Farm, part of the Duchy of Cornwall estate, wanted to reduce its reliance on imported electricity and make better use of the available roof space across the site.

DW Energy designed and installed a 61.6kW solar PV system alongside 46.4kWh of battery storage, helping the farm generate and store more of its own renewable energy.

The results speak for themselves:
✔ Over 45% self-sufficient on average
✔ Up to 90%+ self-sufficient on sunny days
✔ Forecast first-year savings of more than £11,500
✔ Reduced reliance on volatile grid electricity prices

Supporting the future of electric HGVs requires more than just installing chargers ⚡🚛

For Shoreham Port, the challenge was creating an energy infrastructure capable of reliably charging heavy electric vehicles overnight while working within the limitations of an operational commercial port and existing electrical supply.

DW Energy designed and delivered a fully integrated solution combining:
✔️ Two 80kW EV chargers
✔️ 200kWh battery storage
✔️ Integration with an existing 90kWp solar PV array

By combining charging infrastructure with battery storage and on-site renewable generation, the project allows Shoreham Port to maximise its use of renewable electricity, reduce pressure on the grid and build a strong foundation for long-term fleet electrification.
