📸 Throwback to a nice little repoint we wrapped up!

We got stuck into this one by removing the damaging old cement, steam cleaning the masonry, and carrying out delicate plastic repairs on the stone and brickwork - saving the original materials meaning zero brick replacements were needed.

Out with the harsh cement, in with the traditional lime! 🧱✨

We recently wrapped up this wall rebuild and repoint. Every bit of old cement mortar was carefully removed, blown bricks and stones were replaced, and the whole thing was repointed using a natural hydraulic lime mortar.

Why lime? It’s tough enough to handle the excessive weathering from the roadside splash-zone, but soft enough to let the original brick and stone breathe without cracking.

Another small repoint underway.

Garden wall has been victim to a severe bodging with sand and cement mortar. All joints to be raked out, blown bricks replaced or repaired and then repointed in lime mortar.
