Well well.
Today we held the retirement lunch for our Mr Graham MacMillan. Graham approached me directly, late in 2024, when I, due to my wife’s illness at the time, was just doing my level best and more just to keep everything afloat, but was just not in the frame of mind, or looking to, acquire more staff. Graham was working within a larger organisation within the preservation industry, but was looking for change. We met up in person , and Graham expressed his intention to help me , so we agreed terms, and help me, he certainly did, as I spent a huge bulk of my time throughout 2025 including weekends, undertaking the renovation of my wife and I’s now residence in sunny Pitlochry. So, without Graham jumping in when he did, and undertaking surveys with the energy of a man much younger, who knows where I’d have been. So, some things are just meant to be, as it also proved to me, that I didn’t need to be at the coal face doing surveys every minute as per my “norm”. That’s not to say that I don’t rely on all the team at ” as I do, but the timing of, and Graham’s always boundless enthusiasm, was very gratefully received.
Graham said today that his only regret was that he hadn’t joined us sooner. You and I both Graham.
Have a long, healthy, happy and very well earned retirement. You more than deserve it, Graham.
