We completed a full restoration of this stunning stone elevation, resolving damp issues caused by previous use of incorrect materials. Using St Astier 3.5 NHL lime, all joints were expertly repointed. The slight variation in mortar colour you may notice is due to recent rain - the lime will naturally dry and cure to a uniform finish over the coming weeks.

Stone skews were realigned and sealed, and the stone pinnacle secured with a stainless-steel dowel for lasting protection.

Before vs After Transformation. 🔨🧱

The front of this beautiful stone property had been hidden under layers of black paint and cement mortar 🪨

We:
✅ Removed the black paint to reveal the original stonework.

✅ Raked out all cement mortar.

✅ Repointed using traditional NHL lime mortar - breathable, sustainable, and prefect for heritage stone 🌿

The result? A stunning, natural finish that not not looks great but protects the building for years to come 💪✨

Before & after care at its finest 🧱.
A lot of detail went into restoring the stonework and Victorian brick extension at the rear of this property. Brick indents, a new lintel and cill, and carefully colour-matched Lithomix lime mortar replaced the unsightly cement patches. We then carried out a full cut out of cement mortar and repointed with a traditional NHL lime mortar - bringing this period property back to life while respecting its original character.

Major restoration work was carried out on this property at Baxter park terrace, Dundee. Very dangerous loose and failed cement mortar with heavily weather stone. All Stone was descaled and taken back to a solid surface and repointed with hourdex hydraulic lime to stand the test of time.
