The photos below show a diverter valve we recently replaced. Years of corrosion and debris had caused it to seize, preventing it from operating correctly.

A faulty diverter valve can divert the flow of heat away from your domestic hot water and into the central heating circuit instead. The result? Your boiler is producing heat, but not enough of it is reaching your taps, leaving you with poor hot water performance.

The good news is that, in many cases, replacing the diverter valve assembly restores full hot water performance without the expense of replacing the entire boiler.

🚨 Late Friday Night Boiler Call-Out 🚨

We were called out late on a Friday night to a customer left with no heating and no hot water.

After quickly identifying the issue, it became clear the boiler had suffered serious damage. The homeowner had previously had an asbestos garage ceiling removed, but the pipework above the boiler had not been properly secured afterwards.

This resulted in leaking fittings directly above the boiler, causing heavy corrosion to the casing and internal components — leaving the appliance unsafe to use.
We also found the gas pipework had not been clipped throughout its 4m run.

✅ New Baxi 800 16kW heat-only boiler fitted
✅ New Adey Micro2 magnetic filter installed
✅ Central heating pipework renewed and secured
✅ Gas pipework renewed, clipped and secured correctly
✅ Installed using M-Press fittings supplied by MacDonald Plumbing & Heating Supplies
✅ 10-year manufacturer’s warranty
✅ Completed within 3 working days from the customer’s first contact

Another kitchen sink installation completed as part of a customer’s new kitchen fit 👌

We were asked to plumb in the new sink along with various different outlets, making sure everything was neat, accessible and ready for everyday use.

We also carried out heating system protection works:
✅ Added Adey MC3+ cleaner
✅ Returned after several weeks to flush the cleaner out
✅ Fitted a new Adey Micro2 magnetic filter
✅ Added Adey MC1+ inhibitor to protect the system going forward

A tidy job and another system left cleaner, protected and running as it should.
