Being a medical parent means no two days are ever the same.
One day, Esme is thriving, smiling, and taking on the world. The next, we're navigating hospital appointments, procedures, pain, and the challenges that come with living with Hirschsprung's disease.
Hirschsprung's disease is a rare bowel condition that affects how the bowel works, and while many people see the smiles and happy moments, there's so much happening behind the scenes that most people never see.
I'm sharing our journey to raise awareness, educate others, and show the reality of life with a child who has complex medical needs. If our story helps even one family feel less alone or encourages someone to learn more about Hirschsprung's disease, then it's worth sharing.
I'm also raising money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, who have supported families like ours during some of our most difficult times.
