Couple of jobs completed this week,
This first being the kitchen / diner extension that was finished on Tuesday, all new plaster work was mist coated and then finished in a lovely combination of colours, ceilings and main walls was Egyptian Cotton with a few feature walls being F&B Mizzle & F&B Vardo all mixed into Johnstones Trade (unfortunately I forgot to take before photos of this one)
The second job was a reception room in a period property. Again all new plaster was mist coated then finished on Johnstones - Singing Sand and then finished other of with this lovely

I last painted this kitchen 5 years ago, after all the walls were plastered and the new kitchen was fitted.
I’ve been asked to re do it as the lady had a water leak from the bathroom above the kitchen.
I noticed lots of hairline cracks all over this wall so I’ve raked them out a bit further to give the filler something to grab on to then I’ll seal the wall before painting.
The most common causes for this amount of hairline cracks are either
•Forced drying - heater directed onto the plaster to speed up drying times.
•Lack of prep to the existing surface meaning the plaster loses moisture.
