A blank canvas. We all love a blank canvas. This transformation has made a huge difference to this garden. The lawn doesn’t feel reduced yet we have created a 55sqm top patio with two large planters to the front for our client to fill with loads of planting.

This garden is sloping majorly and so levelling out the top part was essential. About 25 tonnes of aggregates and soil went into this project all expertly delivered to a tight site with a 9ft height limit by Pat Taylor Garden Services Limited.

Fantastic porcelain slabs from Melton Stone delivered to us on time and right to the door. And the bricks from Huws Gray that are new but look old to blend in with the rest of the property.

We’ll be back to this site for what is now the bottom patio to make it match!

Sometimes its not all about digging holes and filling them in. Sometimes we get to build stuff too!! This job for a long term client was a new carport over the driveway that we built last year and a new retaining wall to replace old and rotting sleepers. Sleepers have their place, but brick is always the choice for longevity. Talking of which the roof of the car port is rubber and should last for 50 years or so. That’ll outlive us!!!

Quick little job for a regular client

We’ve been a bit quiet on here for a few weeks! The heat is taking it toll and it’s definitely a challenge working in it. HOWEVER…..

Along comes an amazing transformation that knocked our socks off! (Probably quite good given the temperature!!) From a neglected unusable space to a Japanese inspired and really useable garden.

We had to keep the ditch at the back and built culverts either end of it to take a patio over for an entertainment space. Brick edging to define the spaces, new turf and white chippings that will ultimately be planted up with low maintenance plants and have stepping stones through it.

We think this one is pretty cool to be honest !!

We picked a good week to start a new project, but when clients bring out the ice creams it makes it all ok!!! 😋😋🥵🥵😀😀 ...

A nice job for TouchPoint Food Share Charity in Stansted as they needed pathways for their new allotment from the car park to allow for easy access for all. Gravel grid meshes allow for a good hard standing and ease of use for all whether walking or rolling over them. They are a good solution for somewhere where more traditional hard standing materials are unwelcome. They will also offer ease of removal should the land ever be needed to be returned to its original state. The beds are being built by Touchpoint volunteers. If you’d like to help out with anything that they do please contact them through their FB page.

New build gardens are such a disappointment. Developers put so much effort into making the interiors of their houses nice and then throw nasty slabs on the floor in the garden and leave nowhere for any enjoyment outside. That’s where we come in. Working with Zoe Kilbride Garden Design and her design vision we have built this amazing space for lovely clients in Bishops Stortford.

The garden has been split into 4 individual spaces each having its own identity and use, yet the whole garden feels like it all flows, held together by the planting. The choice of Sealed Egyptian Limestone slabs and pavers to match for the patio, along with clay pavers for another seating area has defined the spaces beautifully.

It just goes to show that you don’t need to have a massive garden to introduce different areas, just good design.

Wow!! Just Wow!! What a transformation from start to finish this was. When we first looked at this garden back in November last year it was reeling from being a dumping ground whilst our clients house was remodelled. Enter Zoe Kilbride Garden Design and her vision to transform it to a resting wild oasis. We’ve levelled it, built a pergola installed clay pavers for access, laid shade loving wildflower turf and super quality green fenland turf. We’ve planted to Zoe’s design and we think it looks amazing. Whilst there we also thought that the front was feeling a little neglected so with a spare couple of hours one day we dug that over, spread some topsoil and scattered butterfly and insect loving wildflower seed there. We can’t wait to pop by later in the summer to see it all growing on.
