One of this week’s jobs which requires an explanation. These panels came under attack from a squirrel. The solar panel installers installed plastic bird proofing measures. As you can see from the photos it didn’t stand a chance against a squirrel. They had gnawed through it in 8 places.
They then built a substantial nest. Luckily they hadn’t turned their attention to the panel cabling. We removed the inadequate plastic and replaced it with our 2.3mm black solar mesh along with stainless steel mesh clips.
Our full metal installs provide the ultimate protection against squirrels and birds.

Jackdaws don’t mess around about when constructing their nests. They’re huge. This set of panels contained 3 of them. The amount of twigs and dry grass that came out filled a 120l garden waste bin. We used our black pvc coated 2.3mm mesh along with our N-X stainless steel mesh clips to proof the panels. This will stop them dead in their tracks.

Photos from yesterdays squirrel job in Royston. This property has been plagued with squirrels for years according to the client. It was clear what the problem was - the plastic bird comb. The squirrels have gnawed through it, gaining access to the loft space.
A new product hit the market last year - galvanised bird comb. Due to this being a big job we called in the help of a family friend who is a professional roofer. The entire front row of tiles front and back were removed to be able to install the galvanised bird comb. There is absolutely no way they will be gnawing their way back in now.
