Hi guys, we repeat below advise each year when a large storm hits, prevention is always better than a cure
While many fencing companies will be busy dealing with tomorrowβs repairs and quotations, we want to focus on what matters most right now: taking immediate action to minimise potential damage to your fences, gates and property during the upcoming storm.
Please take a few minutes to follow these precautions before the storm hits:
DOUBLE GATES
Where possible, tie your gates open securely against your fence. If this isnβt possible, tie them shut and secure all drop bolts, locks and padbolts.
FENCING
Secure any movable objects in your garden against your fence. If you have a shed beside your fence, securing the two together may provide additional support, provided it is safe to do so.
SINGLE GATES
Tie them securely open against a fence where possible. Otherwise, secure them shut using all available padbolts and locks.
CARS
Park away from fences and gates, preferably close to your house. Where possible, avoid parking beneath roof edges where tiles could fall.
TRAMPOLINES
If your trampoline has no safety net, turn it upside down or lay it flat on the ground and weigh it down securely, if safe to do so.
BINS
Move them into a garage or other secure location if possible. Alternatively, tie them securely to a stable structure or tie them together and position them against your house.
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY
Wood can flex under extreme wind pressure, and normal securing measures may not be enough to prevent damage. Take extra care to ensure gates cannot swing open and cause further damage to your property or anyone nearby.
Please be aware that damage caused by severe weather may not be covered by standard guarantees. However, we will honour our guarantees where customers have taken reasonable precautions to secure their gates and fences, in accordance with the applicable guarantee terms.
WE'RE HERE TO HELP
We will be available to answer calls and emails tomorrow to offer advice and assistance.
As soon as conditions are safe, we will get out to assess damage and carry out repairs wherever possible.
Please stay safe, secure what you can, and look out for your neighbours. β€οΈ
From everyone at Bresch Brothers, take care!
