We get asked quite often whether the seller has to provide a septic tank survey as part of the sale.

The short answer is no – there isn’t a specific requirement under the General Binding Rules to have a survey carried out. But that doesn’t mean the septic tank can simply be ignored.

Collapsed Culvert Replacement in Blackstone, West Sussex

Boxall Ward recently completed a collapsed culvert replacement in Blackstone, West Sussex, after the existing culvert had caused drainage problems at the site.

The project involved excavating the affected area, removing the failed section and replacing the collapsed culvert to restore the drainage route.

The photographs show the job from the initial investigation through to excavation and the completed drainage work. Access and the surrounding ground meant the work needed careful planning, but the result is a properly functioning system.

It’s a good example of why drainage problems are best investigated early. A damaged or collapsed culvert can affect water flow, cause localised flooding and lead to considerably more disruption if left unresolved.
