Ochil Hill Runners

⛰️ The 18th edition of the Ochil 2000s (22 August) was a resounding success with 76 runners from various clubs taking it on.

To run 12 hills peaking over 2000ft and stretching over 33km (in the baking sun) is no mean feat.

Luke Fisher from Carnethy took more than 6 minutes off the previous record completing the race in 2:42:40 😮

Once again, Alex did a sterling job of organising it. Thanks to Alex and his band of merry volunteers for making the day a success.

The Bog “n” Burn series wrapped up with race 13, Caerketton, on 12 August.

Well done to everyone who took part in some or all of the B&B races. We’re blessed to have so many of the races on our doorsteps!

And now, a few well-deserved plaudits for the following Ochil Hill Runners:

🥇 Alistair Thornton won the men's series for a 3rd time.

Jack Reed and Robin Wilkins made it an Ochils’ clean sweep of the podium.

🥇 Robin was also 1st V40 male
🥇 Grant Baxter was 1st V50 male.
🥉 John Stevenson was 3rd V60 male.

🥉 Lisa Blackley was 3rd female overall and 1st V40 female.

🥇 Susan Lindsay was 1st V50 female.

Well done to our Ochil Hill Runners who took on the Comrie relays today. As ever, a good time was had by all!

Special mention to our Open V50s team (Edel, Grant, Ewan, Dave & Mark) who picked up the first place prize.

Thanks for having us Strathearn Harriers.
Great race, great grub.
