Well, 2021 has not started too good.
Both Myself and my wife contracted Covid, sometime over Christmas- odd, as we didn’t interact with anyone, not even family.
We tested positive January 3rd, after being concerned of my whole body aching (mainly legs at this stage) and my wife’s cough.
Slowly the aching progressed, causing no sleep, then the hot & cold fever, and finally for me, lack of breath resulting in going to Covid health Center and being given an inhaler.
Severe tiredness just from walking to kitchen & back has kept me off work till today.

I have always said “Take Care” when ending a phone call or leaving a customers house, now more than ever it means so much more.

I know I’m one of the lucky ones, and shall continue to gain my fitness over the coming weeks/months.

Take Care, stay safe.

Info : Lights / Switches & Socket facia changes.

When asked to change a light fitting, light switch, appliance switch or socket , it is normal for the Electrician to check the existing wiring condition out. Both visually & via Electrical Testing.

On installations dating back to the 1960’ & early 70’s it was common to Not have an earth conductor in the lighting circuit.

All metal decorative light switches MUST be earthed - hence the need to inspect and test the circuit.
Socket wiring on older installations give a different problem, conductors tended to be stranded, break off, and cut short within the back box posing new socket installation issues.

The sight of a new consumer unit, with updated earthing to Gas & Water services is a good sign, however an inspection and testing of the circuit being worked upon is still necessary to verify the condition of the circuit.

An Electrician cannot take the word of a previous Electrician or the customer that the installation is in good condition.

Previous experience shows some Electrical circuits not being of good condition even after an Consumer unit upgrade.
