A lush, green lawn doesn’t happen by chance, a little regular care goes a long way. Here are some simple tips to keep your grass looking its best:

🌿 Feed Your Lawn
Using a quality lawn feed during the growing season helps strengthen roots and improve colour. Aim to feed every 6–8 weeks for best results.

✂️ Mowing Frequency Matters
Regular mowing encourages thicker growth. During spring and summer, aim to mow once a week, but avoid cutting too short as this can stress the grass and invite w**ds.

🌱 Dealing with Patchy Grass
Bare or thin patches? Rake out any dead grass, loosen the soil and overseed with fresh grass seed. Keep the area well watered until new growth establishes.

💧 Top Tip
Water deeply but less often to encourage strong root growth, especially during warmer periods.

🌿 W**d Control Advice for Your Garden 🌿

W**ds can quickly take over if left untreated, but with the right care your outdoor spaces can stay neat and healthy all year round.

Here are our top tips for keeping w**ds under control:

✅ Patios & Driveways
Regularly sweep to remove seeds and debris before they settle into cracks. For stubborn growth use a suitable w**d killer on a dry day and re-sand joints where needed to help prevent regrowth.

🌸 Flower Beds
Apply a good layer of mulch to suppress w**ds naturally while helping your soil retain moisture. Hand pulling w**ds little and often is the best way to stop them spreading.

🌱 Prevention is Key
W**ds are much easier to manage when tackled early. Regular maintenance saves time, money and keeps your garden looking its best.

Looking after your garden doesn’t have to come at a cost to the environment. With a few simple changes you can create a greener, more sustainable outdoor space that still looks fantastic. 🌍

🌿 Go peat free: Choose peat free compost to help protect natural habitats and reduce environmental impact.

🌿 Compost your waste: Turn grass cuttings, leaves and kitchen scraps into nutrient rich compost for your garden.

🌿 Collect rainwater: Use water butts to recycle rainwater, great for your plants and helps cut down on water usage.

🌿 Encourage wildlife: Plant pollinator friendly flowers and create habitats for bees, butterflies and birds.

🌿 Reduce chemicals: Avoid harsh pesticides and opt for natural alternatives to keep your garden healthy.

🌼 Top Tip: A more natural garden isn’t just eco-friendly—it’s often easier to maintain and more resilient too!

As the weather warms up your garden needs a little extra care to stay lush and thriving. Here are some simple but effective watering tips to help your plants through dry spells:

💧 Water early or late: The best time to water is early morning or in the evening when temperatures are cooler, this reduces evaporation and helps plants absorb more moisture.

💧 Water deeply, not little and often: A good soak encourages roots to grow deeper, making plants more resilient in hot weather.

💧 Focus on the roots: Aim water at the base of plants rather than the leaves to avoid waste and reduce the risk of disease.

💧 Don’t forget pots & hanging baskets: These dry out much faster than garden beds, so check them daily during hot weather.

💧 Use mulch: Adding a layer of mulch helps retain moisture in the soil and keeps roots cool.

May is one of the busiest months in the garden. With longer days and warmer temperatures everything starts growing fast, so staying on top of a few key jobs will keep your outdoor space looking its best.

🌿 Mowing: Lawns will be growing quickly now so aim to mow at least once a week. Keep blades a little higher during dry spells to avoid stressing the grass.

🌿 W**ding: W**ds love May just as much as your plants do! Regular w**ding now will save you a lot of time later, try to remove them before they flower and spread.

🌿 Planting: It’s the perfect time to plant summer bedding, vegetables and hanging baskets. Just keep an eye out for any late frosts and protect tender plants if needed.

🌼 Top Tip: Give your plants a boost with a feed and keep everything well watered, especially during warmer days.
