Part of my studio revamp included sorting, labelling, stacking, and organising all my basing and modelling materials onto their own dedicated bookshelf.

This is just part of it though. The larger items like trees, corkbark, habico natural dried pods and packs are all stored in 32l plastic boxes under the table. Maybe I need more (or larger) bookcases πŸ˜†

I am a little behind with messages and emails, due to the Bank Holiday and the amazing weather we've been having lately. I'll get back to them this weekend.

I did find time to test out my recent acquisition of 2.0 Speed Paints from Army Painter on some lizardmen for my fantasy game.

I wasn't impressed when speed paints first came on the scene. I thought they were a bit of a con, just like 'Dip' was trying to pass itself off as something other than DIY varnish, speed paints we're trying to pass themselves as more than glorified inks..

I heard better mention of the 2.0 range, and when I saw a pack on a trade suppliers website, I thought ok, lets give them a shot now I dont have to pay retail πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

These lizards are OK. Passable. And I suppose it does exactly what its supposed to do - a passable mini in a fraction of the time. I'm content. Not completely happy, but they will do.

One thing I think I will try next is going back to a light grey undercoat. I hate using white, and my Vallejo 70.990 Light Grey is a lovely paint with a good texture and spread. Maybe that will tone down the glare a bit?

More exciting news - new stock day!

I don't think I will be reopening my eBay store any time soon, but as I get back up and running I will be introducing some new stuff.

This package also includes some new toys just for me - replacement tools, new paints, and.... an airbrush!

WIP - a preview of some pieces from my own 15mm Fantasy wargame setting I am (back to) writing. Vegetation is a chopped up garland from The Range, models are 15mm 3d printed. The gold shield on the champion is actually a button!

The more I use this yacht varnish the more I kinda like it.
It's tough to work with, very sticky, and eats brushes, but.. strong and a good visual once it dries.

Howdy all,

Finally some good news. Sort of.

I've finally come to the acceptance that I am no longer as young as I once was, and that 12 hour painting days will have to be a thing of the past. However...

I have spent the last few months working on building up my core strength, addressing my posture, and that odd looking white piece of wood in the photo...? That is slowly becoming my new elbow/wrist support.. (I'm still trying different heights and widths but we are getting there...).

I have also rearranged my entire working area, literally flipping my desk area around and building a new 'L'-shaped set-up in my room.

This has increased my natural light a lot, even if it makes my room echo now, but the mental benefit of decluttering and no longer trying to work in a tiny corner of space has been great.

Still a way to go to perfection, but painting is no longer as painful or as taxing as it was getting to be.

I am still behind on work, so will not be taking on any more clients or commissions beyond the ones I have at the moment. This will change though as I get back into it.

A quick 'sorry' to all those who have been let down these last few months, and thanks to everyone who hasn't give up the faith.

I will be back to updating this page as regular again and I hope you will all look forward to the photos of some half-decent painted minis*

Hi folks,

As many of you know I've been dealing with a few niggling health issues that effected my painting. However, thanks to a pioneering new NHS treatment, specifically tailored to my needs, I hope to be back to work very soon!

So yeah, its been a while... Don't call it a comeback..
