I was asked to make some doors for existing custom built wardrobes from a rustic theme seen on Pinterest - Second Image.

I decided to use softwood ply for the doors rather than t&g timber boards as it is more porous than planed timber and once wax oiled would give the correct rustic finish that the customer prefers.
I was also hoping they would be more stable going into a warm house.
There is a shallow saw cut every few inches to give the illusion of board joint and each faux board was sanded differently so they don't all look the same after waxing.

Will post photos after the customer has wax oiled them.

On this project I was tasked with converting the original staircase which had a turn at the bottom into a straight staircase.

I was unable to use my router on this one, so I had to cut the housings with a circular saw and chisel 👌

After raising a staircase up, I needed to make an extra couple of treads but the only timber I could get off the shelf was not wide enough for the stair strings.

I managed to replicate the original mouldings on the table saw.

Improvisation paid off.
