🏡Another project nearing completion in Chapelton of Elsick.🏡I
Our clients, a young family, approached us when purchasing their home with a vision of creating a larger kitchen and family living space. Working closely with them, we developed a solution that kept structural alterations to a minimum, helping to focus the budget where it mattered most: creating a spacious, practical and welcoming heart of the home.

Another project that has reached practical completion in recent weeks.

We're delighted that the homeowner got in touch to share photographs of a project that we designed and secured planning permission and a building warrant for.

The client procured the contract directly and successfully managed the contractor throughout the construction phase.

🏡 Project Complete - Edzell Woods Community Trust Ltd 🌳
We are delighted to see the new Edzell Woods Community Trust facility reach Practical Completion and be ready to serve the local community.
The Trust had identified a need for a dedicated community space but required support, lost in the depths of the planning system. We were pleased to assist them, conceptualising a better value design solution and continuing through to completion, providing:
✅ Planning Permission
✅ Value engineering to align the design with funding constraints
✅ Funding support through various public funding routes
✅ Building Warrant approval
✅ Construction drawings
✅ Principal Designer services
✅ Client/Employer Agent services throughout construction
Following a delayed start due to heavy snowfall earlier in the year, we remained actively involved on site, arranging inspections and testing during the groundworks phase to help discharge planning conditions and ensuring the project progressed smoothly through to completion.
We're delighted with the quality of the finished building and were pleased to sign off Practical Completion in July.
A huge congratulations and thank you to Craigmile Plumbing and Heating Ltd and Bogenraith Farm and Estates Ltd for delivering an excellent project, within the funded budget constraints. Their workmanship has provided Edzell Woods Community Trust with a fantastic community asset that will benefit local people for years to come.

Throwback to last Friday! 🎉
The IDD team enjoyed a fantastic day at Lochter Activity Centre, followed by lunch and some well-earned social time together. It was great to step away from the office, catch up as a team, and make some great memories.
Now it's back to work — and already looking forward to the next one! 👏

Throwback Thursday – Office Refurbishment, Aberdeen
Two years ago, Inspired Design & Development Ltd had the pleasure of assisting with the design and delivery of a substantial office refurbishment in Aberdeen.

Our involvement included: ✅ Design development
✅ Building Warrant applications and approvals
✅ CDM 2015 Principal Designer services
✅ Site inspections and project monitoring through to completion
This project transformed the workspace into a modern, functional environment, and we're proud to have played a key role from concept through to handover.
It was a pleasure working alongside our client and collaborating with the talented team at Taavetti Office Interiors, whose expertise helped bring the vision to life.
Looking back, it's great to see how successful teamwork and careful planning delivered such a fantastic result.

Throwback Thursday
Not too far back to early 2022, when we were appointed to secure planning permission for this stunning new countryside home.
Following a successful planning approval, we went on to obtain the Building Warrant and provided the Professional Consultant's Certificate throughout the construction phase.
It's always rewarding to see a project progress from concept to completion, and we're delighted to have supported this build every step of the way.
Completed in 2024. 🏡✨

Sometimes it’s surprising what requires planning permission…

On this project, planning permission was needed to alter the position of a boundary fence. Although the land sits within the applicant’s title, the front garden had been designated as public amenity space —forming part of a wider “buffer zone” within the original development masterplan.

Bringing the fence forward therefore required both planning permission and a formal change of use to domestic garden ground.

It’s a great example of how planning constraints can arise in unexpected ways, even on land that appears straightforward.

Delighted to have been able to assist our clients in obtaining planning consent for this valuable community asset.

The overhaul involves demolishing the existing pavilion building and removal of two bowling greens, followed by adding four containers, manager dugouts, floodlighting, fences and a new 3G football pitch.
