Securigate is proud to be a growing business and we're looking for a motivated and reliable Apprentice Engineer to join our team within the gate and barrier industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a career in automation. No prior experience is required - just a strong work ethic, willingness to learn and a genuine interest in installation/engineering.
You will receive full training in all aspects of gate and barrier automation, working alongside experienced engineers on installations, maintenance and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the installation of automated gates (sliding, bi-fold, swing, etc.)
• Support routine maintenance checks to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently
• Learn to install and program access control systems (intercoms, keypads, biometric systems)
• Assist with electrical wiring and basic system programming
• Help diagnose faults including mechanical, electrical, and motor issues
• Support repairs and replacement of components such as motors, cables, and control boards
• Carry out safety checks to ensure systems meet health and safety regulations
• Work closely with customers, learning how to explain system operation and maintenance
• Assist with completion of service reports and documentation
Requirements:
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic interest in engineering or hands-on work
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
• DBS check will be carried out
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
