‘ENTWINED’

A new wall finished in New Brighton.

This one is a quiet nod to the people behind the colour you see around the town. The volunteers who keep the streets alive with hanging baskets, planters and flowers through the seasons. It’s easy to walk past them, but the work they do changes how a place feels.

The portrait sits wrapped in flora, almost dissolving back into the brick. We leaned into the wall on this one, letting the tones and texture of the building stay present so the piece feels like it belongs there. Like she’s been part of the street for years, watching the place grow.

The detail is heavy, but the presence is soft. Almost ghostlike like those beautiful old painted signs you see on buildings.

A figure held together by plants, people and the quiet effort that keeps a community blooming. Huge respect to the volunteers behind New Brighton in Bloom who bring that colour and care to the streets all year round.

Big thanks as well to Hello New Brighton and Dan Davies for continuing to champion artists and create opportunities like this through the open air gallery in the Victoria Quarter. Projects like this only happen because people believe in making places better.
