Last vid of the week. Nice four day week for a change. Gonna take the daughter shopping in Manchester.

Started to slate this one today. The weather tried its best to stop us but we made canny progress. These 24x12 slates are monsters, they’ve got another 120 years life in them yet.

Episode 2 of this weeks roofing diaries. Today we stripped the rest of the front, fit the bonding gutters, graded the slates and got it ready for slates to go down.

Just started the strip and recover. Another great job to put my name too. The 24x12’s are going back on the front and Canadian Glendyne’s are going on the back. Got the lead dormers to redo in lead again so that’ll be fun.

Put a shift in today to get this complete before we start the next big strip and recover. The weather slowed us down but it didn’t stop us. A new lead bay roof complete for a lovely client who appreciates the traditional methods. It’s always a pleasure doing work like this.

Nice little lead canopy completed today in North Shields. From a flashband nightmare, back to its original glory. A little bit more prep went into the canopy than I thought it would need. Let’s hope the window cleaners stop using it as a platform to wash the windows from.

That’s the last day at Tunstal view and what a job it’s been. From stripping it in torrential rain, to cooking ourselves fitting lead work. There’s been so much work went into this roof. Working on properties of this age bring some interesting problems and what you think will be a four week sprint turned into an eight week triathlon. I’ve throughly enjoyed it, so I can’t complain. But I’m happy to move onto the next job.
