“A little goodwill goes a long way” - Friday feeling 🏡✨
We were recently contacted through Checkatrade by a customer who needed a small render repair at her property. We provided a quote and got her booked in as usual.
However, when our team arrived and spent some time speaking with Dorothy, we were deeply moved by her situation.
Not long after losing her Husband, Dorothy needed some alterations to her home to suit her needs. Sadly, a group of “builders” she had trusted to carry out those modifications turned out to be untrustworthy, after agreeing on a price and paying a significant amount upfront, they abandoned the job—leaving her home in a state that has made day-to-day living even more difficult.
Hearing her story didn’t sit right with us.
After repairing the outside of her home due to the bad craftsmanship that they left, we decided as a goodwill gesture, we would repaint the exterior of her home and carry out a full clean-up— absolutely free of charge, just to help restore a bit of pride in her property and, hopefully, some trust in tradesmen again.
We’re now also working on a plan to help put things right inside and make her house feel like a home again.
It’s a longer post than usual, but we feel it’s important to say this:
It’s hard to believe that in this day and age, there are still people out there willing to take advantage of vulnerable individuals in this way.
To our customer—thank you for trusting us. We’ve got your back.
And to others—please be careful, and always check who you’re trusting with your home.
Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend ☀️
