Ex council home, now bought. So time for a change in the wiring! 4 in total as well as other jobs 💡

FUSE CARRIER PART 2....

So after discovering an empty main fuse carrier the fuse has also been discovered in a cupboard. The question is would I be in the wrong to re-energise the house? Do I have to call the DNO? Let us know in the comments.

Before and after photos of the distribution board change from our most recent house rewire.

The second photo is an example of a chemical reaction between moisture and the copper conductor of a cable.

Another very similar reaction happens to houses that were built in the 70's. They were mostly wired with part copper & part aluminium conductors, due to a lack of copper. Thankfully, this has since come to light that the two elements clash causing a reaction to the PVC of the cable - basically a complete fire hazard! 💥🔥
