This week I went to one of my favourite places Carrie's Garden :) I helped her out by doing a bit of ladder work and ivy removal. Carrie has a great garden hosting such plant diversity and a personal knowledge of all her plants, she's developed the garden you can see in the photos by herself - it's amazing. She's keen to invite you into her garden for a look around and if there are particular plants you fancy it's likely you'll be able to buy them as there's quite a selection up for sale at very reasonable prices.

Planting this specimen my customer made at Nigel Little Basketry workshop. I'm not sure if it will take - I've advised watering twice daily and plenty of talking to it.. we'll see

Did i ever say how much i love my work? From supporting children and adults with (A)utism to milking cows in N(Z) I've done a lot but nothing compares to (G)gardening and creating lovely spaces and getting well looked after by my customers. Its is quite perfect for me at this stage in my life. I feel ever so lucky :) particularly when it's sunny 🌞

Phone keeps stating that it's memory is full so sorting through some photos, most of which have some kind of garden theme.. I'm rubbish at doing before and after photos and in general social media stuff but I took these in recent weeks.. thought I'd pop them on here before deleting them for good.

Yay, lunch break in a tshirt hiding from the sun after working in it for the last 3hrs.. love doing my work irrespective of the weather. However, the sun, a blue sky and a gentle breeze makes it just a little more enjoyable 🌞

Well... I'm excited about this. It's been a little wet of late and while I'm quite resilient my patience was waning. *I am aware that forecasts can be wrong but today I'm a believer 😌

Changed a hedge layout today. Checked for nesting birds 1st. Then removed all the conifers to give other present hedge plants (spotted laurel, holly, climbing rose, honeysuckle and various ivys) a lot more space and the opportunity to create a mixed hedge that will be much easier to maintain. I left bigger branches of conifer for structure, biodiversity and a trellis for future climbers. I look forward to seeing how the hedge and bank develops over time

A little early but had to crack on with this wildflower patch. I covered it with polythene back in October so not to difficult to turn as ground largely dry. Plenty of perennial weeds removed prior to reseeding with seeds suitable for heavy soil. Performed a good luck dance before heading off just as the rain headed in

2 days along with help from Morgan Stroud (a gardener who is yet to create a page despite my best attempts to encourage him to do such) to whip these overgrown hedges into some shape. The sun put in a welcome appearance at the end of the job to highlight the difference a cut hedge can make to the light in a garden.
