🐭🐜🐀 PEST OF THE WEEK 🐀🐜🐭
Sticking with rodents these cute little guys often get forgotten about when thinking about pest control, however if you have them in your loft you will know about it. They can be extremely loud to the point where you will lose sleep, and if you are really unlucky, they can cause damage to your home.
Squirrels are a favourite for some, but here are some reasons they need to be controlled.
⚫️ If you are unlucky enough to have a squirrel enter your home, it is important to try get them out as fast as possible, otherwise they may tear insulation from electrical wires, tear up fibre glass insulation or even chew through the walls, just to name a few reasons.
⚫️It's not just in our homes, but squirrels also prey on our wild birds and go after their eggs. It has been reported that fledgling rates have been reduced by 15% due to grey squirrels!
⚫️For you garden enthusiasts, grey squirrels have also been known to wreak havoc on gardens and orchards, eating recently sewed seeds and causing a path of destruction while they are at it.
⚫️Although squirrels are primarily herbivores, in some situations where seeds and nuts are not available, they will eat insects, smaller rodents, birds’ eggs and nestlings.
Squirrels are fantastic creatures, but like most wild animals can cause a lot of damage both inside and outside our homes. Remember, if you have a squirrel in your loft, it will likely run away from you however, they can get much bigger than you think and will attack if they feel threatened.
