Roger had his dentist check up in Old Town this morning, so seeing as we were there anyway, we thought we might as well fit a clearance in too!

Here’s a little before and after from today. It’s always nice to see the difference!

From first message to clearance complete!

Our Pinehurst customer spotted us on Facebook and messaged us last Sunday afternoon.
We arranged to pop over and give her a face to face quote on Tuesday morning, which she was happy with, and booked the clearance in for Friday morning.

By Friday, the greenery had been cleared and removed!

No complicated process, no waiting around for weeks. Just a straightforward service from a local family business. 💚

Sometimes it’s the little things that make using a local business so easy.

🚨 WARNING CUTENESS OVERLOAD!

And no I don’t mean Roger & Dan! 😂

Our customer this week, Ruffus & his Mummy, honestly made our day. 🐾

They booked us to clear their rubbish, but if we’re being completely honest, we’d have been more than happy if that phone call had simply been to come and hang out with Ruffus!

For those who don’t know, we’ve had 5 bulldogs over the last 26 years, and we sadly lost our last one this year. 💔

So, while we’re learning to navigate life without a dog at home, we’re embracing every single one of you who lets us share a little bit of love with yours. 🐾

Thank you, Ruffus, for making our working day that little bit more special. 😍

And yes, the rubbish was cleared too! 😂

Something we've noticed recently

Over the summer, it seemed like every local Facebook group was full of people offering rubbish removal.
New businesses popping up everywhere, lots of posts offering very cheap prices and plenty of people advertising that they could take rubbish away for cash.
And we remember thinking I wonder how many of them will still be here when summer is over? here we are. 👀
And it got us thinking.

Running a legitimate waste removal business isn't just about having a van and being able to load rubbish into it.
There are licences, insurance, disposal costs, paperwork, fuel, time and, most importantly, a responsibility to make sure the waste you're collecting is dealt with properly.

We've been doing this since 2004.
22 years later, we're still here. Still working. Still paying the proper disposal costs. Still doing things legally. Still answering our customers' messages and still turning up when we say we will. That's the difference between having a van and running a waste removal business.

This isn't a dig at anyone. Businesses come and go, and everyone has to start somewhere.
It's simply a little reminder to customers ,
Don't just choose the cheapest price.
Ask who you're trusting with your waste, check their credentials and make sure you know where your rubbish is going.
Because when the Facebook adverts disappear, you want to know that the person who took your rubbish is still accountable. ♻️

Happy Monday !

Today’s customer from Old Town, Swindon first found us on Facebook back in 2023 and she’s continued to come back to us whenever she’s needed rubbish cleared.
Today she messaged to say she had some more rubbish that needed removing.
Within just a few hours, we had arrived at the property, even though she wasn’t at home. We got on with the job, cleared everything, tidied up after ourselves and left the property just as we found it.

Once the job was complete, we messaged her to confirm that the rubbish had all been removed and let her know the balance owing.

It’s simple things like this that mean so much to us.

No fuss. No waiting around. No need for the customer to be home. Just a trusted, reliable service from start to finish.

❤️ ONE YEAR MARRIED • 26 YEARS TOGETHER ❤️

Today we celebrate one year of being Mr & Mrs Whitlock, but really, we’re celebrating 26 years of us. 🥂

26 years of loving, laughing, arguing, making up, growing together and building a life that is completely ours.

Along the way, we’ve loved five dogs: one Boxer and four Bulldogs. 🐾
We’ve raised four children and now have the absolute privilege of being grandparents to our beautiful grandchildren through both of our daughters. 🥰

We cared for Rosemary, Roger’s mum, for five years while she lived with dementia. They were some of the hardest years, but also some of the most important.

We’ve built and run a business together for 21 years something that started all those years ago and somehow became such a huge part of our lives.

We’ve had highs, lows, adventures, tears, laughter, crazy days, hard days and some pretty amazing memories along the way.
And then, after 25 years together, we finally became husband and wife in Cyprus. 🇨🇾
One year married today.
26 years choosing each other. ❤️
We wouldn’t change the life we’ve built, the family we’ve created or the crazy journey we’ve been on together.

Happy 1st wedding anniversary to us!
26 years down and hopefully many, many more to go.
